Nothing But Flowers
Songs of Obsession: "Blowout" by Radiohead
I really don't feel like an explanation is necessary. This song was forgotten, but I rediscovered it this summer. "Everything I touch turns to stone" Radiohead at there best in my opinion.
Waterfalls. Don't go chasing them.
Some pictures at waterfalls I took with my camera in Colorado. I liked the composition of the top one, the way it's broken up into zigzags. The bottom two I used a motion setting that makes splashing or running water look frozen like ice.

Mad Men
Mad Men is my new obsession on the little box with moving pictures. I just rented the first season today, just to see what all the fuss was about. I mean Stuff White People like told me I should based off of the color of my pasty skin, so I better right? It's amazing. I hate submitting to Stuff White People like aka becoming a complete stereotype, but this show is too good to pass up. First off, I never knew it was about advertising, and it happens to take place in one of my favorite eras of ad history, the late fifties. It's getting all Norman Rockwell up in herrrrre. It also reminds me of Chip Kidd's The Learners (ad agency early sixties, same time period I guess). The eye candy of the show is the sexy secretary, Joan. The actress who plays her likes the Magnetic Fields. Drool.
AIDS/HIVE Prevention Ads
So I stumbled across these today on Copyranter's blog, and I have to agree, these are probably the best HIV/AIDS prevention ads ever designed. I love the art direction. Hopefully someday I'll do something like this.

Wormhole
Here's a sneak peak at my new web comic, a revamping of my old one. It's called Wormhole. It'll be a bit of a satire of super hero comics in general. There will be plenty of science fiction references. It will be loosely based off of life experiences, but don't look too far into it, I'm not a complete narcissist. I'm really excited about this one, and for once feel like I have a compelling storyline.

barbarella boxers
Sexy right? Camille made these for me a really long time go. She's talented enough to sew them from scratch out of Barbarella fabric she ordered online for the Space Party we held. They're pretty ginchy, and they're a perfect fit! I love it when you do the Jane Fonda.
Songs of Obsession: If I know You & My People by The Presets
The Presets are one of the bands I've been listening to most this summer. The lead singer's voice is so powerful, and they have a strong hint of the eighties revival sound that has come to grow on me. I think they're masters of electronic music, and here are two examples. If I know you starts out slow, and has an amazing transition into a perfectly danceable song. The music video is very captivating too. My People pumps you up from the beginning to the end, and the video is visually one of the coolest music videos I've seen so far.

My Room
So it's been about three months so far of me living at home in my old room, and I've stayed surprisingly sane. I think the reason why is because I redecorated the place, and took down all of my old oppressing high school crap.
First off we have my bulletin board. It used to be filled with memories, gross!, now it's filled with artwork from this summer that I've done. If you look closely you'll see a Kid Pix sign I made when I was seven that reads "Lutenent Kevin Ruler of the Unavarse" Child Prodigy.
Also, my black light is next to the bulletin board, and everything glows. It sucks that black lights are such a big part of stoner culture (which is lame) because I think they're really cool. Black light is like antilight and it really calms me down whenever I get stressed out, especially when I'm listening to my record player along with it.
This is a sculpture I did for my transfer portfolio since I wanted to have something 3d. It's constructed out of rubber duckies and plastic army men. You can get a better look here.
My room has these three little windows that I think are cool. I even added a plant so it wouldn't look as dead.
The Time Machine series. A series of small paintings I did from different eras in time, from primordial to the future. I wish I did a million of them.
A blown up rendering of Serge Gainsbourg, but of course. above my record player is the diptych painting that my best friend Laura made me for my birthday. It's a great shot of our asses.

Care Package
Web Comics
I've been really neglecting my web comic. I do this thing where I start them, get really into them, and then stop usually at the most crucial point. I'm like Braniac, collecting entire civilizations in jars. I've decided that among the many projects I will work on in Colorado next week, Purple Acid will be one of them.
My most recent comic adventure. I created this world shortly after getting rejected from the Comm. Design program at UNT, so there's a lot of angst in the begining. It stars a boy, Dare, who goes through the same situation, but a strange turn of events makes him forget all about it. It was really supposed to be a color study at first, to help me practice, but sort of evolved into what it is. It's the most relevant to my life.
I made this when I was in high school, so forgive me for the story. Think Tomb Raider, set in the 1800s. Benjamin Studyheim ( a character I invented in middle school who looks remarkably like me. Narcissistic much?) He's more of a treasure hunter, and he along with his sexy red headed side kick, go around the world searching for precious relics. He's also got a sword with weird uncontrollable powers.
As for the robot. You'll find out.

Star Wars Dance PArty
Okay I'm posting this and I'm not gonna talk about it because it speaks for itself. My good friend Caroline sent this to me today. Enjoy!

Mutant abilites
It's no secret I get bored at work. Here's a photograph i took with my camera, but manipulated it using layers in photoshop. This is what it looks like when I use my mutant ability to grow to an immense size. My mutant form is called The Teal Destroyer and I crush and destroy whatever is in my path!

Songs of Obsession "Seconds" by the Human League
Although coming off of the album, Dare, this ain't no "don't you want me." If you really want to take this song in, you have to hear it from "I am the law" to "seconds" because it has one of the best transitions I've ever heard. It's a rush of synth. They do things with synthesizers that are truly amazing, but get a lot of shit because of their image. The video is a bunch of clips of the JFK assasination, which until now I never put the two together, but makes sense. I'll always love this song. :)

So I fore sure know what I want to be for halloween this year...
My Little Ponies have just become cool.
Best Frank Zappa pictures of all time
These are my two favorite Frank Zappa pictures in existence. Starting with the top. Nothing could be odder than Frank Zappa's quirky yet menacing head with hair tied into two little pig tails. The all yellow background makes it seem even stranger. You get a weird Sesame St. vibe from it, like this strange man will be taking care of your toddlers. Correction, something can be more menacing, Frank Zappa strutting his stuff in a leopard mankini and Rainbow Bright knee high socks.
