Color Theory: Project 1

Color theory project 1.  Not  lot said about this one, I liked the result though, I guess that whole semester doing Typography made me forget that every once in a while you'll actually like an ending result.

Can you tell that not having photoshop is taking a serious toll on my photos?  I'll get it back soon.

Space Monster

The color is much more breathtaking when you see it in person.  What i was going for here was chaotic.  I wanted to create a creature that was the opposite of the structured world of design.  i wanted a beast that would beat design's prissy ass with a stick.  The monster was inspired by Ludo from the movie, the Labyrinth. I might possibly go as him for halloween next year. Why outerspace, beacause space is awesome! The asteroid is supposed to be shaped like a pencil.  

The Squids

This was a painting i did over the break.  It took my fascination with octopi and squids to a while new level.  What if the happy go lucky world of cartoons was a little more realistic.  Let's see cartoons on drugs!  The type suggests maybe the old, worn out, blue squid will kidnap the young, naive pink one.

Schoolgirlapus

She was a sketch I drew over thanksgiving break along with several others, Initially the entacles were coming from under her skirt, but it looked too provacative which wasn't what i was going for. If you couldn't tell by now, I love drawing big, fat, juicy tentacles. School girls are good too.
