We'll always have the rainbows

Postcard I made for Regine.  It was made out of the SCAD Magazine.

Xmas lights

I was playing around with shutterspeeds again.  Luckily this year was the first year my parents started using these tacky (which is why I love them) rainbow colored xmas lights, instead of the boring white ones.

Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen

I'm addicted I think.  Oh well. Beats meth!

Thor, Superman, Robin, & Aquaman Collages

Just for fun, I'm doing collages based off of super hero costumes constructed out of old comic books.

Thor

Clark Kent as Superman
Robin
Aquaman

Vulture Photos

I thought I could use these as stock images someday for something.  A bunch of vultures were going after a dead racoon.  I didn't get the shot, but there was a point when there were like twenty of them soaring threw, circling above it.  It was actually kind of pretty.

I like the way the one on the right is perched.  He looks so sinister and evil.  They were afraid of me and waiting for me to leave so they could dig in.

Songs of Obsession "Long Distance" by The Gossip

Because long distance is the wrong distance.
This song is great.  So is there other track, heavy cross.  They give the lead singer a lot of shit about her weight, but her voice is so powerful and fun; WHO THE FUCK CARES!  It just goes to show that the music industry can be extremely shallow sometimes.  I like the balloon heads in the video, looks very kitschy.  Also the fact that it takes place in a roller rinc.  I want to go to one so bad but the one they have here they turned into an indoor soccer stadium.  Stupid! Soccer = lame, disco roller rincs = incredible.

I was a little nervous about this group's new album "Music For Men" IE "we're all about gay folk now", but I feel like they're actually doing something positive for the community and not exploiting homosexuality for the sake of entertainment.  So go go gadget GOSSIP!

The commercial for the CD is almost frightening.  His nails!  Not for the faint of heart.  SO CHECK IT OUT!!

Comic Books

I'm doing several collages made out of old, newsprint comic books.  I found some old, cheap ones at half-priced, but this one i stumbled upon I could never shred up.  It's so cool!  Look at how reluctant Green Lantern is to Ivy.  He's all "Get away from me, BITCH!"  I like how they used flaming type for his name.  Why?  And Ivy's is al Celtic.  I'm gonna read this one today I think.

I also just realized I never posted my awesome GL pics from Halloween.

Green Lantern waiting in line for the Costume Ball with Super Maria and Chewbacca.

Green Lantern just landing to earth at the Robert Redford filming of The Conspirator.

Green Lantern setting a bad example. I never said I was a role model.

Tomar Hanuka

Israel born illustrator from New York.  I discovered his work on Cuastic Cover Critic.  There's more info on that blog, I just wanted everyone to see how beautiful his work is.  How could you feel anything but inspired after viewing these?

I love them.

Homesick Fail

After literally fantasizing about having my own room again, and eating edible food, I'm finally back home in San Antonio.  I'm bored already.  This is my first day back.  Severe Homesick fail.
I'm not used to doing nothing, and I'm really bad at it.  I need a project!  Being an art major for so long has bred me into thinking I should always be working on something.  Oh the humanity!

Package Design

Stressed over it a lot.  This was the first time I've done packaging for anything, so it was exciting to work on.  I got the cup and the popcorn box from the cafeteria (resourceful), I made the corndog box from scratch, and I bought the bag at target.  I also bought red sparkly wrapping paper from Target to use for the background.  The hardest part was probably coming up with the layout.  I had the photography done early, but the layout caused so much frustration on my part.  I feel like I finally came up with a good concept.  I also got to use the ferris wheel in the background as a shadow.  I'm finally done with it I think, it just needs to be printed.  Now to work on my lame drawing for design project :(

SO DRAMATIC

Me experimenting with the light from my desk lamp, and color filters in photoshop.  This one is done with a green overlay to give it sort of an eerie, uncomfortable feel.

Pics from my dorm

Trying to be a photographer, pretending really.  I wish I knew anything about it.  I am learning better editing skills thanks to my graphics class.  These were taken from the balcony on my floor.
The fancy gating around our dorm is the only thing that seperates it from a sleezy motel.
The Church tower I pass everyday.  I hardly ever look up.
The trees with the haunting spanish moss.

Songs of Obsession "Tomorrow" by Ladytron

I saw Ladytron in concert once.  I had been wanting to see them for a very long time, and when the time finally came by I was ecstatic.  They put on a great performance, but they had technical problems halfway into their set, and had to stop.  It was devastating, and I was a little ticked off that they didn't just go on without their electronic technology, they still have two women with beautiful voices that could still perform.  Even though it made me mad that their mindset was not "show must go on" I still can't help but love their music.  It's that captivating.  I don't think there is a Ladytron song I dislike.

This video is very Art Nouveau for me which is one of my (and everyone else's) favorite art movements.  The maidens remind me of an Alphonse Mucha painting.  Everything about it is just beautiful and well done.

Oh Ladytron, I could never stay mad at you.

Final Logo Design

I went with the strong man as the logo.  It works because it can get very tiny and still be readable.

Post Cards

I made these out of my SCAD campus guidebook for orientation.  There's so much junk they give us that can be collaged into art.  I want to make more.

I made this one for Camille to scare away any of her future boyfriends.  It also references a funny story.
This one was for Laura.  Who doesnt want to kiss that mouth?  Which one of you thirsty gents is going home with her tonight?
