Christmas Cards

For xmas cards this year I made a taxidermy reindeer stencil out of card stock and painted them as prints over miscellaneous Christmas cards. Each one has the print, but in a different color, or on a different card.

Xmas Kitsch

I've recently been addicted to this app on my iphone that lets you take pictures as if you took them with a lomography camera, and here are some kitschy Xmas photos I took around the house.

I had to sneak a picture of me in here. Don't I look like the lead singer of some Indie band? Don't you just wanna pop open a tall boy of PBR and Jam out to my muzique? This is a nordic sweater I got for Christmas. It's grey, like everything I own, and I love it! I'm a big fan of the shawl neck, it makes me feel like I'm Don Draper on vacation in Sweden.
This is a box of type my parents got me. I can't wait to experiment with it.
This will be my briefcase when I graduate in spring. I saw it on Etsy and immediately fell in love with it. It's a samsonite briefcase from the 60's that the artist I bought it from spray painted the decal on. I figure it will set me apart from other graphic designers, and will be an interesting houser for my portfolio. I'm also thinking about getting it lined with some cool fabric.

Wedding Photos

I found him at an antque shop as well. Little kids in the 50's had it so good. Everything was kitschy and cool, now everything is so plastic, uncreative and all around shitty. He actually looks a lot like this guy that goes to my school. I'll name him "Malibu Ken"

Is that you Bodeen?

There is an antique shop that I absoloutely love near where my parents live called Curiosities. It's literally bursting at the seems with old junk from the 50's and 60's. Here were some old photographs I decided to make mine. I'm starting a collection of old discarded pictures so I can do something with them one day.
This guy's name can be Leroy. I imagine this is what I would look like if I were born in this time period. You know it's true!
Her name has to be Daisy; she's a rural princess waiting to be saved and brought to the city. She's "Don Draper one night stand" material.

Her name is Bodeen because the B-52's wrote a song about her. I saw this and died. I think she may be the woman Divine modelled his drag act after.

Hey mom! we want...

So...I made these...
...for my friend Regine's birthday. We both happen to love corndogz.
My enthusiasm is in the glitter. Also, watch this. 1:18 is pure perfection!

Magnets, how do they work?

I made these for my friend Camille's birthday. They're made out of an Urban Outfitter's catalog and a 50's Home & Garden Magazine.

I know, I know, creepy, gross, morbid. My parents found this couple in the chiminey, I guess they got trapped there and couldn't get out. They saved them in a plastic bag for me to take pictures of. Now, I'm not a serial killer, despite popular belief, but I do think these pictures might come in handy someday. They kind of look like fallen angels.
