Songs of Obsession: Jesus Doesn't Want Me For a Sunbeam

I was really stressed out yesterday after I came back to San Antonio on the plane, and this song really got me through it.  I just find it calming.  Sorry, there's no video.

Craftiness: First Entry

When I'm not at my internship, and while I get the chance to do so over this infinitely long and cruel summer is do some craft projects.  Hand-made things with little to no thought put into them.  "Just Cuz" pieces.  Think Post Secret style.  I'm starting with these portraits I made in an art project/birthday gift I did for my best friend Laura.  I call it The Book of Green

NSIDE

The new issue of NSIDE came out today, which means...

...I'm officially published!  It's a very small step, but it is a step, and I'm really excited about it.  They're my children!
I did what I could with these ads, the majority of them aren't going in my portfolio; they just don't have that WOW factor.  Another important note, sometimes you have to do EVERYTHING the client wants, even if it seems blasphemous to the design), but I am proud that they're in print for everyone to see.  If I had to choose a favorite I'd have to choose the top right.

Songs of Obsession: Melody by Serge Gainsbourg

Easily one of my all time favorite artists.  Serge Gainsbourg is a France'n Romance'n genius, and this song really sums his music up.  This song is extremely sexual and raw, my new favorite of his.  It's hard to believe it was created in the sixties.

I apologize, I have this weird obsession with French music that can't really be explained.  I don't speak the language, although I'd like to someday.

If you like what you hear, here are some others I'd recommend:
  • Bonnie and Clyde
  • Requiem Por Un Con
  • Comic Strip
  • Ballade de Melody Nelson
  • Je Suis Venu Te Dire Que Je M'en Vais
  • Initials B. B.

I don't remember where I got this caricature but I think I'm gonna use this color scheme in something else.  I like the somber colors.

The video has his wife, Jane Birkin in it.  I think she may be the single most attractive woman to have ever walked this earth.

new banner

I changed the banner.  I wanted something a little bit more spacey, more colorful, but I still wanted it to have the classic victorian pattern (because I'm all about that shit!) so I turned it into kind of a progression.  I think the banners of this blog are subject to change frequently.  If you're reading this as an old post you can see it here
The older one is below.
